Career
Throughout his career, Ellis has refined his expertise in strategic planning, digital strategy, measurement and analytics, persona development, digital audits, and more. His background affords him a distinct point of view into how digital solutions can be used to help advance business and brand objectives.
Providing creative and strategic counsel to help solve complex digital marketing and communications challenges while focusing on measured results all while sharing the human side of business is what Ellis does best. For more than 18 years, Ellis has elevated Fortune 500 companies, start-ups, and mid-level businesses. In 2016, Ellis struck out on his own bringing his years of experience and knowledge along with his track record of success to found the 440 Strategy Group. To better establish a niche in the digital marketing area, Ellis worked closely with his wife’s dental practice — Ellis Dental — to hone his expertise for the industries of dentistry, optometry, oral healthcare, and the like.
Personal
Ellis resides in the St. Louis, Missouri region with his wife, Dr. Holly Ellis. They have two young children and a puppy, all of whom are growing up too fast.
On any given Sunday morning, you can typically find the Ellis’ spending time either at home or out coaching teamwork and good sportsmanship to his and other kids during their sporting activities.
Ellis minored in music (trumpet performance to be exact) in undergrad. In 2000 he won the Drum Corps International World Championship for his involvement with the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps out of Rosemont, IL. He plays in a St. Louis-based rock band, goes to concerts, plays golf, travels, and spends quality time with his family when not working.
Education
Ellis’ credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems from Missouri State University and an MBA from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. He continues to remain a student of the digital industry, continuously learning about and understanding the latest trends in an effort to expand his capabilities.
He is currently the chair of the Missouri State University Alumni Association.
